Jim Cramer - Investing is Common Sense

Sometimes you can out think the market. Sometimes someone can out think it for you. If you like to play stocks on a hunch, there are a lot of stocks out there that can make you money right from home. Let's just bet the farm on the farm. There are a lot of farmers buying tractors. Deere (DE) is the best stock that people need to own. Why aren't more people betting on Deere? Either they've been brainwashed that they need to be in a mutual fund, or they have been reading negative articles in newspapers. They want you to think that Deere is made of radiation. They fret about raw materials, smaller machines, higher emission standards, and the possibility that commodity prices should fall. These articles sound so profound, but they come at a cost to your wallet. It has an agenda - they don't want you to make money. The press marches out bad news like it's the Macy's parade.

If you want to try to make money, you've got to recognize that this is a game of common sense.

THS makes store brand products. They are a win as people look for lower cost foods.

Herbalife (HLF) is a buy. They have a great man running the company and you should bet on them.

BHI is also a buy. It has been taking on new highs. If you own it, hold on to it.

Marvell (MRVL) is a company that has not done well. You would have to be ignorant to own that stock. They are good people, but they are making the wrong product at the wrong time.
