It wasn't always this way because it is only in more recent years that I have given these concepts a lot of thought. As I have mentioned to some of my friends and other people who I trust would understand what I mean, I have asked them to take a very close look at me and tell me what they see. I joke that the "Older I become the Blacker I become". In other words the Older I become, the more I have come to appreciate what being Black and American means, and how it has allowed me and others similarly situated to positively contribute to the Country's and the World’s progress.

Black Americans hold a unique and somewhat enviable position among Blacks the World over. This is because we live, participate, influence, and contribute to the enormous impact the United States of America has upon the World and its progression.

The United States is truly a unique country considering the conglomeration of numerous ethnicities living together in what is the World's most successful multicultural community of extraordinarily talented people. Except for the Indigenous people, Americans have all moved from somewhere else at some point in time and made it our home. 'The Great American Experiment' has truly been a tremendous success. It has been so, no matter the difficulties derived from building a Country upon the combined work of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and White people. Despite widespread indoctrination, it has never been a "White" Country and certainly day by day it is becoming less "White", which of course is the reason a certain segment of the White population is somewhat concerned. They need not be in fear however, as they will still have all of the numerous benefits of the 'Great American Experiment', and in fact more so with time.

The contributions of Black Americans to the overall Economy of the United States is often overlooked, but the Spending Power of Black Americans alone has been estimated to be greater than that of the entire Economies of Countries as large as Canada, and Australia. But perhaps more remarkable, are the contributions of Black Americans to Global Democracy.

Historically, almost every major development in World Democracy and Civil & Human Rights can be related back to the battles and struggles for equal justice, and actions championed through the Black American Experience. 'The Black American Experience', is perhaps the most important element defining 'American Democracy', and what for many, has made The United States the leading model of 'Democracy' Worldwide.

The more we study the various Campaigns and Movements for Civil Rights and Democracy in America, the more we should realize, appreciate, and be grateful for the leadership, cultural power, influence, history, and uniqueness of the Black Experience in America. The founding, composition, and performance of the World’s largest and most powerful Multi Racial & Cultural society has had a profound and positive Global impact on the vicissitudes of life globally for Blacks and nonwhites, no matter in whatever Society, or Country they may be domiciled.

Yes, Black America with all its faults and historical problems has in fact been a powerful force in the development and progress of so much we all take for granted today. Those of us who are Black, and who are not afraid of being identified as Black, can indeed be proud of our accomplishments and contributions to World progress.

Can anyone imagine what life and progress would be for Blacks globally in a World dominated by European Colonialism without the influence of the Black American Experience, and the Power of Black America to equalize the equation? Yes, I am proud and honored to be an American, and even more so, I am proud and honored to be a Black American.

The National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame (NRBHOF) has concluded the official Groundbreaking Ceremonies for its permanent home and Entertainment Village on the hallowed grounds of the Banks of the Historic Coldwater River in the Mississippi Delta. The Coldwater River in Quitman County was one of the important sites of the ‘Battle of The Yazoo Pass Expedition’ in the U.S. Civil War, the Country’s first Campaign for American Civil Rights.

The NRBHOF will begin a series of fundraising and joint ventures in partnership with Mississippi State & County Governments. The NRBHOF Foundation is also in talks with the Music, Entertainment, & Resort Industries, including Wall Street & other Industrial Partnerships to build out the Entertainment Village. The National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in The Mississippi Delta 

In recent times there have been mass movements to remove and/or replace monuments that represent elements of injustice to Black Americans and other Blacks or People of Color around the World. Considering the relative newness of the development of Countries in the Western Hemisphere compared to those in Europe, among the earliest and most prominent of such monuments are to Christopher Columbus who, according to European History, "Discovered" the New World. 

A recent attempt to remove one of the more prominent Monuments to Injustice occurred in Nassau Bahamas. The Bahamas is the Country where Columbus first landed in 1492 when he stepped ashore at San Salvador/Watlings Island in what is now the Bahamas.

On October 9, 2021 essentially the eve of what used to be Columbus Day in the Bahamas, and now National Heroes Day, an Activist calling himself Michael The Archangel attempted to demolish the 200 year old statue of Christopher Columbus which is displayed in front of Government House in Downtown Nassau. He used a sledge hammer to remove an arm and a leg and caused other damage to the monument before being apprehended.

For years many had advocated removing this Statue. One irony of the situation was that it had originally been protested against by many prominent White Citizens of the early Bahamas, but for reasons other than more recent Activists' complaints about Columbus having been a person of disreputable intentions and actions.

The Statue was originally placed at Government House by an Early Abolitionist, Governor Sir James Carmichael Smyth who had been aggressive in trying to stop the mistreatment of enslaved peoples, even going to the extent of punishing many White Slave owners for their actions. The Monument was originally intended to be a Statue of the Governor himself which garnered donations from many Blacks who supported it being erected in his image. He decided instead to commission and erect a monument to Christopher Columbus.

Immediately after the event on October 9, 2021, many in the Bahamas lauded the Activist's bravery and actions and called for the Government to release him. A Folklore song commending the action was immediately published, in addition to other complements calling Michael 'a Hero', and Columbus 'a Zero'.

A major irony of this development is that unlike other Monuments of Injustice removed around the World, which were erected by White Supremacists, this monument was apparently erected by someone who opposed the injustices of Slavery.

The rising phenomenon of Honest History Tourism, where many tourists, particularly Black Americans, and those attracted to more accurate and equitable depictions of historical places and events will benefit from situations such as this new development in the Bahamas.

The authors of this article propose that the Government of The Bahamas assist in this Honest History Movement by either leaving the Statute where it is in its damaged condition, or remove it to a museum and display it with videos of the attempted demolition so that Honest History Tourists can better review and understand the circumstances surrounding its existence. Tourists can also benefit by leaving the original Pedestal in place with a Historic Plaque marking the spot and environment where the Statue was originally located.

The History behind the statue of Christopher Columbus

Many Bahamians question why the Christopher Columbus statue exists and what is the importance behind it being at Government house, and rightly so considering Columbus  didn’t discover The Bahamas  and also made no positive contribution to what this country is today.

The history of the statue is tied with Sir James Carmichael Smyth, slaves in The Bahamas and another statue the Queen Victoria in parliament square.

Sir James Carmichael Smyth was appointed Governor of The Bahamas in 1829. Smyth was a known sympathizer with the cause of slaves and a keen abolitionist, because of this he found himself to be the enemy of many influential whites. 

Smyth also worked to abolish corporal punishment for female slaves, Smyth tried without success to persuade the House of the Assembly to legislate against it.

in 1830 Smyth became aware of cruelty towards female slaves among a group of 77 runaways from the Lord Rolle estate in Exuma. The slaves, who had stolen a boat and fled to Nassau, were seized in Nassau Harbour and tried as runaways. ‬

‪The magistrates who signed the warrant for the punishment of the female slaves were suspended by Smyth. Smyth's actions caused an uproar

Smyth was described as a pre emancipation hero for attacking the atrocities of slavery and providing leniency for runaway slaves. He also dismissed the police magistrate and several municipal judges for defiance of these orders. 

Carmichael Smyth frequently worshipped with the black congregation on Sundays, the ruins of this church are located at the junction of Carmichael and Gladstone road and are incorporated into the structure of St. Ambrose Anglican Church. 

To show gratitude the black people collected a great amount of funds which they gave to Carmichael Smyth to have a monument made. It is my assumption that the black Bahamians assumed that he would have a monument sculpted of himself but instead  he had a statue of Christopher Columbus sculpted. 

The statue was originally meant to be in parliament square but the rich whites were disgusted with the thought of a statue paid for by black people would be at the House of Parliament entrance. So instead the wealthy whites erected a statue of Queen Victoria where it still remains. 

As a result Sir James Carmichael Smyth moved his gift to pecks slope near Government house

Since the historic election of Barack Obama in 2008, the first Black man to be elected as President of the United States, followed by the apparent Blacklash (Backlash) election of Donald Trump in 2016, there is a New America quickly arising and showing its ugly face. Mississippi - The Stand Up State for The Rights of Black Americans

Due to the large number of Blacks who had been imported into Mississippi to work America’s richest soil in the Yazoo Delta area, the volume of Blacks made it possible for Blacks in Mississippi at the time to rise up, speak out, and stand up for their rights. This resulted in the BlackLash (Backlash) by the powerful White community with lynchings and vicious physical, emotional, and economic abuses and atrocities against Blacks. The Blacks in Mississippi set the stage for Blacks standing up and fighting for their rights and their lives throughout the World. The scenario is repeating itself today in modern America where the enormous and increasing accomplishments of the Black population is causing fear, concern, and consternation among what is left of the Racist White element in the United States.

In a Mississippi Clarion Ledger article by Jerry Mitchell about Civil Rights Tourists entitled Mississippi Civil Rights, history museums set to surpass attendance projections, Mitchell states that Author Ralph Eubanks said many are attracted to Mississippi because it was ground zero for the modern civil rights movement and much of what happened here is known, in contrast with some other states, still grappling to comprehend their pasts. "We've had to confront a lot more of our demons," said Eubanks, who detailed his Mississippi childhood in his memoir, "Ever Is A Long Time." "That doesn't necessarily mean we've dealt with all those demons, but our demons have been put out into the open."

The real history of the United States is now being told and recognized nationwide due the vast increase and global reach of the number of Black storytellers and historians. Not the least of this new phenomenon of Honest History is the increased number of Black elected officials, and Black correspondents and journalists in mass media. The story being told is now a much different story, and many who believe in the old status quo, do not like it.

There are a lot more new and different Cooks in the kitchen, and Corporate America is finding this new menu can be good for their bottom line.  Inadvertently or not, American Corporatism is therefore also assisting in educating and changing America by increasingly Blackening the stage.

It is sad that this is the state of our new America, because we are really all one people. America, more so than any other country is a nation molded from the brightest, best and most resilient people from every corner of the world. Europeans who fled oppression in their own countries, Africans who were snatched from their families and communities and brought here, Indians and other ethnic populations who arrived to these shores, by choice or otherwise, and of course, Native Americans whose homes were invaded and lifestyle commandeered to accommodate the needs and whims of newer settlers.

The new Race War is being waged primarily by Republicans and Trump devotees, emboldened by States ruled by Republicans who will not acknowledge what constitutes Systemic Racism. If we want to be One People, practicing Systemic Racism and promoting Racial Division in a Country with the demographics of the United States cannot in the long run be positive, and may prove counterproductive. Their attempts to win elections by utilizing blatant Voter Suppression measures, promoting racial division and dictatorial, totalitarian, undemocratic practices is nonsensical. It is not surprising that the obvious and predictable danger of such actions has so quickly resulted in one already historic violent Coup to overthrow the U.S. government on January 6, 2021.

The real message to be derived from the state of this New America for those who do not want to recognize Honest History is that we are indeed One People, and we need unification more than division. Simply because one segment of society is starting to catch up in the Race for Equality does not mean that the previously more privileged segment is being victimized, displaced, or discriminated against. Equalization and Unification should be celebrated, not feared. True and Honest History is a powerful teacher and should be encouraged.

Despite the common goal, articulated in its motto, E Pluribus Unum (out of many, one), the United States remains a distinct conglomerate, a nation of survivalists, different segments pitted against another but ultimately benefitting from working together.

Mottos are used to describe a country’s intent or motivation.  A number of countries’ mottos bear the word “Unity”, embodying the intent of that nation to exist and prosper as a unified body. Sadly, mottos aside, far too many countries, including the United States, have fallen short of their original intent. In some cases, the developers of the mottos were disingenuous, crafting a motto that did not truly envision unity for its entire people, but for a select few born of privilege or some elevated station in life.

Amidst the ever evolving turmoil, the notion of unity is etched in our cortex, stamped in our DNA, as evidenced by the countless songs and books penned about togetherness, unity, one heart.

Just as in Mississippi where more than anywhere else, the increased presence of Blacks birthed the Civil Rights movement, it is indeed the Mississippi Effect all over again, arising in a New America.

In the recent months a new business and investment related instrument has surfaced and began to gain credibility in the global marketplace. The Non Fungible Token (NFT) promises to be an extremely important phenomenon in future business and investment transactional activity with potentially historic implications.

A Non Fungible Token (NFT) is a Blockchain Registration Certificate of Authenticity, Uniquity, Origination, and Ownership of a Digitized Asset. A NFT is a collection of all of the pertinent information relating to the uniqueness and origination of any asset which can be compiled in a digital file, registered, preserved, and secured on Blockchain.

A NFT is a unique representation of the Digitized Asset which cannot be replicated on Blockchain even though the physical copying of the asset can be accomplished for sales or other purposes.

Blockchain Registration and Certification ensures that the Digitized Asset is effectively registered and archived globally, documenting its most important and valuable attributes on a worldwide Cyber Secured Platform. Because NFTs are Blockchain Registered and Listed on a Blockchain Marketplace, they can be easily purchased and tracked for royalties, investments and other transactional purposes. The Asset can therefore be readily utilized in efficiently conducting important business, financial, and transactional marketplace activities on a global basis.

The value of NFTs depend on the substance and market interest of the underlying Asset such as cryptocurrency, art, music, photography, film, video, and other potentially valuable productions. They are already becoming extremely profitable for the Owners of some Blockchain Certified Digital Assets, generating millions of dollars in several recent high profile sales.

However, the intrinsic power of a NFT as a collectible item and commercial product derives from the fact that it may be the best way to establish the ownership and origination of the first existence of a Digitalized Production or Asset. Also, NFT Blockchain Registration is established on a global basis not limited by jurisdictional registration, lowering the costs and facilitating the administration of transactions utilizing the Instrument.

Additionally, under certain circumstances those attempting to claim and enforce legal rights under jurisdictionally registered Intellectual Property (IP), may not be able to prevent the owner of a prior established Blockchain NFT from exercising what would otherwise be IP Protected Rights in the production or asset. Important concepts and requirements in IP Law, such as establishment of first instance of origination in Copyright, first instance of Use in Trademark, and the existence of Prior Art in Patent Law will certainly be affected by the the new paradigm of NFTs.

It may be prudent for holders of IPs to establish a NFT, and likewise those who establish NFTs to register applicable IPs if available. It is highly probable that the combination of IPs and NFTs will become a future Standard for the protection of valuable commercial creations, inventions, and productions. Perhaps the most important need for creators, producers, inventors, and developers of NFTable assets is the necessity to seek competent legal advice and representation when considering establishing a NFT. Most people want to be rich and make a lot of money, and many of them even have some idea of how they think they can do it. A Game Where the Odds Are Always in Your Favor

One of my dad’s biggest sacrifices during the pandemic has been not going to the casino. He loves those trips. He even has a separate bank account that he keeps his “casino money” in. He automatically deposits a small portion of his pension into his casino account every month. He pulls money out of that account when he goes to the casino, and anything he wins gets deposited back into the account after he has visited.

A couple of months ago, he mentioned to me that since COVID-19 hit, the balance in his casino account keeps going up. It seems that not going to the casino is actually a positive thing for his bank balance!

What floored me is that, somehow, he seemed surprised by that fact…

As you may know, every single game is structured so that the casino has an edge. In blackjack, ties go to the house. In roulette, there is an extra space that puts the odds in favor of the casino. In slots, every single game ultimately results in the casino winning over time.

I’ve politely tried to explain to my dad that it is a mathematical certainty that, over time, he will lose money at the casino. His response has always been the same. He tells me that a trip to the casino is exactly like putting money into the stock market.

But he is wrong…

In the Stock Market, We Are the House. Stay at the casino long enough, and you are certain to lose.

The stock market is exactly the opposite. The more time we spend in the market, the more likely we are to win. Historical data makes that clear. The investment firm Dimensional Fund Advisors studied stock market performance from 1926 to 2020. The study looked at the odds of an investor having either positive or negative returns based on how long they were invested in the S&P 500.

The results are conclusive…

S&P 500: 1926-2020 width=The longer you are invested, the greater your chances of success.

Anyone in the market for the long term over the course of this study had virtually no chance of losing money.

Even daily, the stock market odds are in your favor.

I should also point out that to lose money over five- or 10-year periods, you would’ve had to have incredibly bad timing.

You would have needed to invest in the S&P 500 only at the worst possible times, like the 1929 peak or the 2000 top of the dot-com bubble.

Success, meanwhile, requires only a few things:

Diversifying, or getting wide exposure to great companies in different industries
Not being greedy or going all-in at market peaks
Not getting scared at market bottoms like the one last spring or cashing out at the worst possible moment
Being patient and letting time in the market do all the hard work for you.

When having a moment of doubt, like many of us did last spring, I like to look at the chart of the S&P 500 going back more than 100 years.

All that chart does is keep climbing up and up. Over that long period, even terrible crashes look like blips on the radar.

Investing in the stock market isn’t gambling. The game is rigged in our favor.

The real story however is that those who embark on this journey without proper training and experience will eventually get hurt, and experienced well trained Investors and Traders will learn how to take advantage of them and their undisciplined Stock Trading activity. A little knowledge, as it is often said, can be dangerous. It has long been known that there is a lot of "Dumb Money" in the Markets as opposed to the "Smart Money".

The Smart Money always wins and eventually benefits from the presence of the Dumb Money in the Markets. In fact most of the Investors and Traders in the Markets are in the Dumb Money category, until they get the training and experience needed to truly be competitive against the highly experienced Smart Money crowd. Investing and Trading is really a business and should be conducted like a business to be ultimately successful, considering the enormous amount of competition in the Securities Marketplace. This was one of the primary reasons Investment Groups like The Hannaian Investment & Publishing  Group (HIPG) was established back in the mid 1990's. When You Buy A Stock, Here's How Much Cash The Company Actually Receives

When you buy $1,000 of a company’s stock in your Robinhood account, how much of that cash goes directly to help fund the company and its business operations? The answer is $0.

Where Your Cash Goes: The issue of buying shares of stock to help “save” struggling companies like GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME) and AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc (NYSE: AMC) has come up frequently on social media since the WallStreetBets-fueled meme stock buying frenzy began in January. However, experienced investors know that publicly traded companies don’t get a dime from the cash you spend buying their shares of stock.

Companies typically raise cash in the public market when they first go public via an initial public offering (IPO), a merger with a special acquisition company (SPAC) or a direct listing. However, once their shares are trading on the public market, any shares you buy in your brokerage account are coming directly from another shareholder who is selling, not the company itself. Aside from any trading fees you may spend on the transaction, every dollar you spend buying shares of GameStop, AMC or other stocks ends up in the brokerage account of the person or institution that sold them to you.

AMC and GameStop traders on Reddit and Twitter have been celebrating their efforts to “save” these companies by buying shares of stock. In reality, the companies haven’t gotten any funds from any of the recent stock buying.

How Public Companies Raise Funds: Once a company is public, it must raise capital via options such as a follow-on public offer (FPO), also known as a secondary offering. FPOs can be both dilutive or non-dilutive. A non-dilutive FPO happens when the founders or other large shareholders sell some of their shares to the public. An FPO may increase a stock’s float, or free-trading shares, but it does not increase the company’s outstanding shares or decrease its EPS.

A dilutive FPO happens when a company creates new shares to sell to the public. By creating new shares, the ownership stakes of existing shareholders are decreased slightly the same way the value of a currency erodes when central banks print more money.

Companies can also raise capital by borrowing money. However, the company must first find a lender that will agree on a reasonable interest rate. Many lenders don’t want to touch struggling companies like AMC and GameStop because they aren’t convinced they will be able to pay back their debts.

What It Means For Meme Stocks: Despite all the publicity and wild volatility in GameStop, the company itself hasn’t actually been directly helped by all the retail buying. GameStop reportedly considered selling more shares during the January rally, but the SEC has said it would closely scrutinize any company that attempted to take advantage of the extreme trading volatility to knowingly sell overpriced shares to vulnerable investors. In June 2020, bankrupt Hertz Global Holdings Inc (OTC: HTZGQ) withdrew a proposed $500 million equity offering after the SEC cracked down on the company for potentially preying on investors.
AMC, on the other hand, was able to raise $1.2 billion via debt and equity deals in January after its stock rallied more than 700%.

“The irony here, of course, is that GME couldn’t even tap equity markets to take advantage of the recent short squeeze,” DataTrek Research co-founder Nicholas Colas said this week.

He said the so-called “dumb money” flowing into the market may not be helping the companies directly, but it is certainly making short sellers think twice.

“You don’t have to be long, but betting against people who think their 10-share buy order is going to change the world is both risky and not actually a fundamentally-based investment position,” Colas said.

There has been some quick responses around the World to the recent expose of the offensive imagery used in the British Awards System as detailed in the National Market Report (NMR) Article by NMEX CEO Harlington L. Hanna Jr. a week ago. The NMR Article and other reporters around the Globe called for the need to address the situation immediately. The star of the Order of St Michael and St George.

The campaign of the Black Lives Matter movement against racism reverberated in King's House yesterday as Governor General Sir Patrick Allen accepted as “offensive” a racist image on a British badge he is forced to wear on his breast on official duties.

Since Independence, Jamaican governors general have worn the breast star — one of Britain's highest honours — with an image depicting a white angel standing on the neck of a chained black man, which has become a flashpoint in the protests against racism.

“The governor general acknowledges and welcomes the concerns expressed by our citizens and the negative emotions that the image has caused, and assures his fellow Jamaicans that the necessary requests will be made for a revision of the image to the Lord Chancellor of the Order of St Michael and St George,” said a news release.

Campaigners against the image on the badge representing the Order of St Michael and St George contend that it is akin to the scene of the May 25 killing of black American George Floyd by a white police officer in Minnesota, United States.

Sir Patrick, in an explanatory note, said the 19th century Star of the Order of St Michael and St George, two military saints, depicted St Michael, the Archangel, as being triumphant over Satan.

“However, in light of the heightened scrutiny of our iconography in Jamaica undergirded by our history, the Black Lives Matter movement in America, and related issues in the global sphere, it is evident that the image can be offensive,” he said. 

Similar pressure is being mounted on Buckingham Palace to redesign the emblem which is traditionally awarded to ambassadors and diplomats and senior officials of the British Foreign Office who have served abroad.

A petition started by Tracy Reeve calling for the medal to be redesigned has quickly attracted more than 5,000 signatures, many from Jamaicans, on change.org.

“This is a highly offensive image… We the undersigned are calling for this medal to be completely redesigned in a more appropriate way and for an official apology to be given for the offence it has given,” the petition said.

The British Guardian newspaper quoted Bumi Thomas, a Nigerian British singer, activist, and specialist in visual communications, as saying: “It is not a demon; it is a black man in chains with a white, blue-eyed figure standing on his neck.

“It is literally what happened to George Floyd and what has been happening to black people for centuries under the guise of diplomatic missions: Active, subliminal messaging that reinforces the conquest, subjugation and dehumanisation of people of colour.

“…It is the definition of institutional racism that this image is not only permitted but celebrated on one of the country's highest honours. Whilst statues are being pulled down and relocated, emblems and symbols of this nature also need to be redesigned to reflect a more progressive, holistic relationship between Britain and the Commonwealth nations.”

The Guardian also quoted Sir Simon Woolley, director and one of the founders of Operation Black Vote, which campaigns for greater representation of ethnic minorities in British politics and public life, as saying he was appalled by the badge.

“The original image may have been of St Michael slaying Satan, but the figure has no horns or tail and is clearly a black man. It is a shocking depiction, and it is even more shocking that that image could be presented to ambassadors representing this country abroad,” he said.
